Leading free-to-play social poker product Zynga Poker has released yet another new poker variant to its game offerings, adding the popular Pineapple Poker variant.
The Pineapple Poker variant has the same rules as Texas Hold 'em but comes with a couple of twists: players are dealt three hole cards instead of two and must discard one of those three cards before the betting round begins. From there, the game resumes as a regular Hold 'em game with the same hand rankings used.
The game was rolled out on Friday, November 18, and is available on a temporary basis.
Pineapple becomes Zynga Poker’s third new variant this year. It has been on a rampage, introducing new variants to its game offerings starting the year with the rollout of Short Deck (also known as 6+ Hold 'em). In Short Deck, the deck is stripped with the removal of Deuce to Five, and hand rankings are slightly modified.
