Online casinos in WV reported revenue of $17 million in April, the latest data from the WV Lottery, collated by PRO, show.
It is a fall on last month — operators made $20 million, an all-time high — but compared to the same month a year ago, the market remains strong, up 32%.
The two dominant licenses, Charlestown and Greenbrier, are effectively tied for revenue, each reporting just over $7 million. Greenbrier, whose licensees include FanDuel, BetMGM and Golden Nugget, just out-pipped Charlestown casinos (DraftKings, Points Bet) to take the top spot in April for the first time this year, but the difference was negligible.
But third-place Mountaineer (BetRivers and Caesars) continue to chip away market share. It reported $2.9 million in revenue to take 16% of the market, comparing favorably to this time last year ($2.1 million, 14%).
